First Meeting

Watering Schedule for the Kompass Garden: The most pressing issue was the watering schedule for the plants in the Kompass Garden, since they need to be watered every day. The initial idea was to set up a calendar on the blog where people could sign up—with details like the combination for the watering cans and which plants are on the schedule. We’ve now implemented this in Stud.IP, with an Etherpad for the information and a calendar. The Etherpad contains the necessary information, such as the code for the combination lock. In the calendar, you can sign up and see if the plants have already been watered. Feel free to check it out. :)

Task allocation & coordination: Since coordination is also part of our responsibilities, we’ve divided up the work: Each member oversees one of the other groups to streamline communication. In addition, there is someone in charge of procuring materials and someone responsible for liaising with Ben from Kinder, Wald und Wiesen e. V.

Ideas & Outlook: Various other ideas were discussed—for example, the inclusion of students from other countries and ideas for the wiki. These will be further developed in the coming weeks as the groups move into the practical phases.

Through Ari, we have a contact at Stuga. The idea of combining the KuWi-Schnack with the seminar is on the table—perhaps even on the grounds of Kinder, Wald und Wiesen e. V., to raise the association’s profile. We’re also generally thinking about a closing celebration.

Next steps: As projects gain momentum, the number of tasks will increase. To make it easier to coordinate everything, we’ve now set up a WhatsApp group for project managers.
