A small highlight of today’s session was Linus’s brief presentation and hands-on demonstration of the blog’s structure in front of the group. Afterward, we gathered in our working groups to continue brainstorming ideas, refining concepts, and developing plans. Oli walked around, listening in on each group from time to time to get an overview. We discussed visual aspects of the blog, “scope issues,” subcategory design, and formalities—so the brainstorming was fruitful :) During the discussions, we discovered that blog and social media topics are closely intertwined, yet there can or should be “characteristic” differences between the media (??). We agreed to stay in close contact. Even though the mood was still a bit “searching,” the overall atmosphere was relaxed and stimulating. Later in the seminar, we gathered in the university garden behind the FSG to live up to our seminar title and continue designing the garden… but a surprise awaited us there :D. Apparently, there had been a misunderstanding somewhere in the communication chain. As a result, we had absolutely no tools to continue working. But I suppose that’s just part of the deal sometimes. Once the initial disappointment and frustration had faded, we decided as a group to pursue general planning and further refinement in the multigenerational park instead. The social media group went around taking initial video footage and conducting mini test interviews. At the end of the session, we discussed our preliminary findings as a group, shared our impressions, and reflected on our feelings before Oliver sent us off for the weekend.
